EOS Signs Conditional High-Energy Laser Contract with Korean Partner
December 15, 2025
Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited (ASX: EOS) has announced that it has reached a binding conditional agreement with a customer in the Republic of Korea. The deal is valued at approximately US$80 million (about A$120 million).
If the stated conditions are met, the contract would include:
- The manufacture and sale of a 100kW High Energy Laser Weapon (the Product).
- The setup of a Korean Joint Venture between EOS and the customer to develop and supply the Korean market with 100kW High Energy Laser Weapons, on terms to be agreed.
- A licence granting rights to the 100kW High Energy Laser Weapon intellectual property for the Korean market to the Korean Joint Venture.
Key contractual terms
The agreement envisions EOS producing and delivering the Product at its new Laser Weapon Manufacturing Facility in Singapore.
Total consideration for EOS under the contract is US$80 million (roughly A$120 million). The conditions include the customer paying an upfront US$18 million deposit, arranging a Letter of Credit for the remaining balance, and inspecting and approving EOS’s Singapore Facility. The customer aims to complete these steps before 31 January 2026.
Beyond these conditions, the contract includes standard terms such as milestone payments for the remaining contract value and full refunds for any payments if the Product fails to perform. If all conditions are satisfied, delivery to Korea is expected by late 2027, followed by product demonstrations.
Under the agreement—and subject to applicable regulatory approvals—the Company would grant a licence to the Korean Joint Venture for the Korean market’s use of the intellectual property related to the 100kW High Energy Laser Weapon. The licence value would be triggered after the Joint Venture is established and key product demonstration milestones are achieved.
